Abstract

Seyfe Plain is located in Kırşehir Province, Central Anatolia, at about 210 km southeast of Ankara, Turkey. The main purpose of this study is to determine the origin and chemical and isotopic composition of the groundwater on the Seyfe Plain in Kırşehir Province. In order to achieve these objectives relevant to hydrogeological, hydrochemical and isotopic studies were carried out of for identifying the main recharge and discharge characteristics of the groundwater system in the Seyfe Plain. The evaluation of isotopic data introduces important details pertaining turn-over times of the karstic water and hydraulic connection between each other. Thus, the calculated turn-over times that were determined from the tritium analyses estimated in the range 1 and 3 years. It may be concluded from the chemical analyses that the groundwater are fed from limestones of the Bozçaldağ Formation.
