Abstract
Although literature and philosophy have been different fields in their historical development, they have been in mutual interaction most of the time. This study, which focuses on existentialism within this interaction, tries to give a summary of the perception of this philosophical trend within Turkish literature after the 1950s and its reflection on novels, stories and poems. Existentialism, which was effective during a period when modernist trends were intensive in Turkish literature, has resulted in prominent changes due to both the themes in the literal texts and the structural characteristics of these texts.
