The Research about Word Power on the Students of Gazi University Faculty of Arts Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literature Department

Abstract

There is no doubt that word power is important to the teaching of Turkish dialects. Together with knowing the native tongue well, it is necessary to be a master at word power of the related dialect not only for the understanding of the target texts but also for transferring them. The measurements to be applied to the students of Gazi University Faculty of Arts Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literature Department , who have been chosen for the sample, intend to identify the subjects’ obtained word power about the dialects for which they have been trained and the native tongues of the subjects are Turkey’s Turkish . In this context, by taking into consideration Master’s thesis and doctoral thesis which have been written before, the method applied has been enlarged and developed covering the differences brought up by teaching dialects. We haven’t been able to identify any study within the context of research on word power in Turkey for teaching dialects before. With the inquiry in question , drawing attention to the emptiness in this field and the contribution to the studies for teaching dialects have been intended.

Özet

Türk lehçelerinin öğretiminde kelime hazinesinin önemi büyüktür. Gerek hedef metinlerin anlaşılması, gerekse aktarılması hususunda ana dilini iyi bilmenin yanında ilgili lehçenin kelime hazinesine de hâkim olmak gerekmektedir. Örneklem için seçilen “Gazi Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Çağdaş Türk Lehçeleri ve Edebiyatları Bölümü” öğrencilerine yapılacak ölçümler, ana dili Türkiye Türkçesi olan deneklerin öğrendikleri diğer lehçelerde edindikleri kelime hazinesini tespit etmeye yöneliktir. Bu bağlamda uygulanan metot,dil öğretimi konusunda hazırlanmış yüksek lisans ve doktora tezleri de dikkate alınarak lehçe öğretiminin ortaya koyduğu farklılıkları kapsayacak şekilde genişletilmiş ve geliştirilmiştir. Türkiye’de kelime hazinesinin tespitine yönelik yapılan araştırmalar içerisinde Türk lehçelerinin öğretimini ele alan bir çalışmaya rastlanılmamıştır. Bu çalışmayla lehçe öğretiminde kelime hazinesinin önemine dikkat çekmek ve lehçe öğretimiyle ilgili çalışmalara katkı sağlamak amaçlanmıştır.
