An Aesthetic Analysis on the City Concept of Ottoman Civilization in Nâbî’s Dîwân

Nâbî Dîvânı’nda Osmanlı Medeniyetinin Şehir Tasavvuru Üzerine Estetik Bir İnceleme

Abstract

Many studies on aesthetics have been done in classical Turkish poetry; however,no aesthetic studies were found on the city. In the study, the Ottoman city and urbandwellers, which are reflected in the Nâbî Dîwân, are examined within the framework ofaesthetic theories. The aim is to show the aesthetic understanding of the Ottoman cityimagination on dîwân poetry. The study is limited to the ode and date poems in the NâbîDîwân. A conceptual analysis was made at the beginning; The concept of the universe,aesthetics, beauty, and absolute beauty are emphasized. In addition, the source of beautyand the manifestation of beauty on the world, city, and city-dwellers are explained, andthe basic differences between the understanding of modern art and the understanding ofIslamic art are mentioned. As a result, it was concluded that the dîwân poetry was thesource of the aesthetics of the city imagination, including the city and the city dweller.

Özet

Klasik Türk şiirinde estetik konulu birçok çalışma yapılmıştır; ancak şehir üzerineestetik çalışmalara rastlanmamıştır. Çalışmada, Nâbî Dîvânı’ndaki Osmanlı şehri ve şehirlisi estetik kuramlar çerçevesinde incelenmiştir. Amaç, Osmanlı şehir tasavvurundakiestetik anlayışı, dîvân şiiri üzerinde göstermektir. Çalışma, Nâbî Dîvânı’ndaki kaside vetarih manzumeleri ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Başlangıçta kavramsal bir analiz yapılmış; âlemtasavvuru, estetik, güzellik, mutlak güzellik üzerinde durulmuştur. Ayrıca güzelliğin kaynağı, güzelliğin âlem, şehir ve şehirli üzerindeki tezahürü izah edilmiş ve modern sanatanlayışı ile İslamî sanat anlayışı arasında temel ayrımlara değinilmiştir. Sonuçta dîvânşiirinin şehir ve şehirliyi kapsayacak şekilde şehir tasavvurunun estetiğine kaynaklık ettiği sonucuna varılmıştır.
