Abstract

Using precise examples, the author of this article, discusses, the translations in Turkish of French poetic works. After underlining the concepts of poetic translation, of certain poets- Francophone translators, he will analyze in detail some well-known translations based on theoretical articles. In this framework, although Cemal Süreya has a free approach, Ilhan Berk, on the other hand, remains faithful to the original text. The author concludes that poetic translation depends as much on the poet-translator’s concept of translation as it does on his poetic aesthetics.
