Abstract
The rewriting of the biblical mythe offers to Marin Sorescu the opportunity to gloss on a various theme, such as the theme of hope like modus vivendi. It’s about an extension of the tradition of Ancient Testament to the practice of modern writing that reveals the religious symbolism, transposed by a palimpsest in a ceaseless present. Iona is the figure of eternal hope to his final gesture. He incarnates the prototype of spirit penitent who wants to join the creators. Lost in his world, he tries to reach his own world. Engaged on his route, he begins a new journey, to discover his own structure. The hope and the freedom are the main coordonates of his inner project. His symbole becomes the expression of fascinans and tremendum.
