Abstract

Bertrand Bareilles the author of the monograph with the title The Turks has studied the demise of the Ottoman Empire. He created the image of the Turk who was a tyrannical occupant in the Balkans and in the Arabian countries. The main purpose of the French author was to prove, by creating the image of the despotic and barbaric Turks, the necessity of the intervention of European forces in the Ottoman Empire in order to replace this muslim state by the ancient christian countries: Bulgaria, Serbia, and Greece.
