Abstract
There have always been debates about Andre Malraux’x portray of historic events in his novels. His works about the Chinese revolution Les Conquérants and La Condition humaine, have been heavily criticized by politicians (Trotsky) and critics alike because of the way he interprets the history of the time. Kemal Özmen considers Malraux’s historical-romantic plot in “Les Conquérants” and makes an in depth analysis of the characters of the novel: Borodin (a historical figure who had also been to Turkey and met Mustafa Kemal Atatürk during 1920’) and Garine (a fictional character)
