“THE VENOM OF THE FANTASTIQUE” SUR LE SEUIL BY PATRICK SENÉCAL

Abstract

Sur le Seuil by Patrick Senécal is a complex novel which difficult to classify as realist, fantasy, thriller or horror. The author builds a plot leading the reader from an ordinary world into ultimate, metaphysical horror and a state of nausea in front of the evidence that Evil keeps existing. We shall try to present the intellectual, the psychological, and the aesthetic pedagogy of this novel (following the propedeutic relations with the real, as suggested by Henri Baudin in his analysis of SF)
