1985-2010 YILLARI ARASINDA TÜRKİYE’DE FRANSIZ DİLİ VE EDEBİYATI ALANINDA YAPILAN LİSANSÜSTÜ TEZLER ÜZERİNE BİR ÇÖZÜMLEME

Abstract

The present research investigates postgraduate theses which have been conducted in the field ofFrench Language and Literature, in Turkey between the years of 1985 and 2010 and also analyzesthe themes of these theses. The corpus of the study is composed of postgraduate theses which have been conducted in the field of French Language and Literature during this period and have also been archived at the Higher Education Council (HEC) National Thesis Centre. It has been noted that a total of 385 postgraduate theses were conducted during this period of 25 years. 272 theses were carried out at the M.A. level and 113 theses were conducted at the Ph. D. level. The theses were located through a “simple search” of the (HEC) National Thesis Centre website (http://tez2. yok.gov.tr/). The first stage of the research consists of compiling information relating to the title of the thesis advisor, name of the university where the thesis was conducted, date of submission, which language the thesis was written in area of study explored in the thesis (literature, language teaching, linguistics, and translation) and index terminology. Within this context, the present re- search based on the survey model by utilizing document analysis techniques displays the findings as a situational depiction
