Abstract

Intermusicality is one of the aesthetic characteristics of musical works known as traditional, mod- ern or postmodern; this intermusical aspect strikes also in various practices of popular music. In- deed, music has a strong possibility of expression; we often distinguish in lyrics, several references to various disciplines, including literature and cinema which is the reason why the musical works have deep reflexive and dynamic dimensions. It is possible to perceive traces of intermusical prac- tices and their functions only when we establish a theoretical infrastructure related to the referenced material. The author of this article focuses on Genette’s intermusical approach that he developed under the name of “transesthetic practices” and the approach of S. Lacasse, who introduced the term of “transphonography”, term inspired by Genette’s concept of “transtextuality”, to study vari- ous intermusical practices used in the popular music
