Abstract

Baudelaire, the painter of modern life, in which artificial things are dominant and who hateseverything that is natural, expresses his ideas about the superiority of the artist over nature. Thepoet dislikes it and tries to destroy it, because nature comes from the God. Nature which doesteach anything compels him to lead a mediocre life. According to him, the aim of art is not to copynature, but to surpass it, thanks to the artificial. Against the vast and silent monotony of nature, themission of the poet is to create a universe, which is more beautiful than the real world by adaptingan original attitude similar to that of Narcisse, as artistic creation is pure liberty.
