LE MONDE GROTESQUE DANS INSTRUMENTS DES TENEBRES, DOLCE AGONIA ET UNE ADORATION DE NANCY HUSTON

Abstract

The present article seeks to analyze the novelistic world of Instruments of darkness, Dolce agonia and An adoration as a grotesque one in order to answer the question why in the middle of a world which seems to be standard, unusual elements appear. To realize this, the article approaches other issues which are the presence of both tragic and comic elements in the space of one text, the cyclic character of time and the moralistic aim of the novels in question. The study of those problems shows that the grotesque world of the analyzed texts is a form of a reflection of the real world created to propose, on one hand, its new lecture and, on the other one, to criticize its functioning
