Abstract

In the analysis of the poems by Haydar Ergülen in Love Poems Anthology the study also dwells on the poetry of the author. His poems which contain traces of folk literature refer frequently to 'courtyards' and 'gardens' as the places people come together to celebrate religious or social events. As can be noted from the poets' previous work and the one studied, he is highly influenced by folk literature that feeds on traditions. In verbal folk literature the society's feelings and thought, the way they view life and the world is understood, interpreted and revarbalised.
