DIRTY HANDS: FREEDOM INTO A SITUATION WITHIN THE SCOPE OF A MURDER

Abstract

The concept of freedom has always been a priority in Sartre’s thoughts. For him, humans on earth who do not have a common essence but a conscience can only give their life meaning through the freedom of choice in their thinking and actions and thus define their existence. But we still may not refer to ‘complete freedom’ for humans because there are other outside factors that effect the realization of thoughts and actions. This leads to the thought of freedom into a situation. In this study Sartre’s work entitled Les Mains sales in which he deals with political thought during a revolution and violence the concept of freedom that Sartre embraces is dealt with in a multitude of ways.
