Abstract

Humans wish and hope to live in eternity and totally renew time. Humans believing in the essence of creation believe in continious evolution. This is their conception of eternity and the wish to attain it.The only way to defeat death is to reach our essence and thus reach immortality. Creation within the cycle of mythology since ages continues its immortality today through science, art and literature. It is possible to see mythic traces in all peoples, faiths, societies if one looks closely. One of the most important disciplines which reflects this is literature. Writers and poets reflect mythological features from their pasts and memories in their creations. This paper studies the poems of Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı with a mythological perspective within the axis of the relationship between literature and mythology.
