Abstract
Human beings who facing the phenomenon of death throughout history, have begun to think about the elements that provide life. Man, who thinks about what constitutes death, laid the foundation for the dichotomy of matter and spirit. According to the common belief, the being whose soul has gone loses its vitality and turns into matter. But the animistic view put forward a completely opposite view to this opinion. According to the this opinion; This "thing", which is named in various ways such as spirit, soul, essence, ghost, breath and life, exists in all kinds of beings without exception, it does not die or disappear, it either continues its existence or changes the place. Turks, one of the ancient nations, have adopted many religious and religious systemes throughout history, sometimes under their influence or accepted them. Animism, which has a very important place in these belief systems, can be summarized as the belief that all beings in the universe, whether living or non-living, have a soul. In this belief system, which is seen in the primitive form of many religions, it is believed that the soul is not only for people, but that animals, plants, elements of nature, even inanimate objects, carry life. Nature cults (tree, mountain, water, cave, etc.) is based on this belief. This thought system, which has created such an effective belief on nature and inanimate objects, has revealed many beliefs about the connection with all phases of existence, including human, soul and even past and future. It is believed that the soul, along with some parts of the human body, is in a relationship and residing in these parts. Turks, on the other hand, believed that the spirit in the human body and, consequently, many features beyond matter were in bone and blood. Thus, from ancient times to known periods of history and from there until today, beliefs that have blood and bone in the center and some practices depending on these beliefs have emerged. The fact that the sacred sensitivity of belief derives from human beings has been revealed directly or indirectly in every religion to which the Turkish nation belongs. In this study, the evaluation of the spiritual belief from the ancient Altaic Turkish communities to the present day in the context of the animistic belief system will be included. For this, first the concept of animism will be discussed and animistic elements in other mythologies will be shown only in the context of human blood and bone. On this occasion, animistic features in Turkish thought will be examined comparatively. Especially the factors that cause the belief that the soul is in bone and blood and what practices this belief has caused from past to present will be tried to be explained. The article aims to fill a gap that is lacking in terms of quantity in the folklore field of animistic thought in Turks.
