The Importance of Public Relations Within Police Service: A Survey

Abstract

With the process of democratisation, the importance of the Public Relations has become more of a public interest ever before. Policing requires to be more interested in Public Relations. This study will try to analyse the importance of public relations for police services.To that aim, first of all, the theoretical knowledge about the field will be given in order to clarify the reader about the subject. Then the results of the questionnaire that has been conducted among the police who are working in the Security Department of Malatya will be evaluated.

Demokratikleşme ile birlikte halkla ilişkiler kamuoyunun daha fazla ilgisini çekmeye başlamıştır.Polislik, halkla çok fazla ilgili olmayı gerektirir. Bu çalışma, polis hizmetlerinde halkla ilişkilerin önemini ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu amaçla, konuyu okuyucuların anlayabilmesi için ilk olarak teorik bilgi verilecek, daha sonra Malatya Emniyet Müdürlüğü'nde çalışan personele uygulanan anket sonuçları değerlendirilecektir.
