Abstract

Sabit b.Kurra was born in 826 AD. in Harran. He was amongst the most important savants of the Middle Ages. He had been named as the “ Euclid of the Arabs” in the west. He had written in nearly every field of science, but especially in Mathematics, Astronomy, Medicine and Philosophy. These valuable works survived through the ages all the way down to our time.

Özet

Sabit b. Kurra, M.826 yılında Harran’da doğmuştur. Ortaçağın en büyük bilginlerindendir. Batı’da “Arapların Öklidi” diye şöhret bulmuştur. Başta Matematik, Astronomi, Tıp ve Felsefe olmak üzere, hemen hemen her bilim dalında çok kıymetli eserler vermiştir. Bu eserlerin önemli bir kısmı günümüze kadar gelmiştir.
