Giant Ganglion cystin hypothenar region compressing Guyon canal

Abstract
Ganglion cysts are cystic growths caused by herniation of synovial from joint and tendon sheaththem on.Ganglion cysts are the most common soft tissue tumors of the wrist, hand and foot. Theyare classified as intraosseous, subperiostal and soft tissue cysts according to their anatomicregion and origin. Treatment methods are listed such as observation, aspiration, sclerotherapyand surgical excision After the surgery, there is a risk of recurrence by 13 40%. The occurenceof hypothenar region ganglion cysts, which cause ulnar nerve entrapment neuropathy bycompressing Guyon Canal is not frequent.So we aimed to report a case with a giant ganglioncyst which is localizated in the hypothenar region of the right hand and causes ulnar nervecompression symptoms.

Ganglion kistleri eklem ve tendon k ı l ı fı üzerinde bunları fı tı kla ş mas ı ile olu ş an kistik olu ş umlard ı r.Ganglion kistleri en s ı k el bile ğ i, el ve ayaklarda görülen yumu ş ak doku tümörleridir. Bulunduklarıyer ve kaynakland ı kları anatomik bölgelere göre intraosseöz, subperiostal ve yumu ş ak dokukistleri olarak adland ı rı l ı rlar. Tedavisinde, gözlem, aspirasyon, skleroterapi ve cerrahi eksizyongibi yöntemler uygulanmaktad ı r. Cerrahi sonras ı %13 40 oran ı nda tekrarlama riski mevcuttur.Guyon kanal ı na bas ı yaparak ulnar sinir tuzak nöropatisi yapan hipotenar bölge ganglion kistleriise s ı k görülmez.
