Abstract
Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of implant types, locations, and patientgender on the neck resorption of dental implants. Materials and Methods: In this study, panoramic films were taken from the patients 12 monthslater. Then, measurements were made from the mesial and distal of the implants. In addition, theanamnesis of the patients was taken. Age, gender, in which jaw implant is made and the type ofimplant used have been recorded. Patients with any systemic disease (diabetes, osteoporosis, etc.) were not included in the study. Those with diseases such as gingivitis, periodontitis, endodontic infections/lesions were not included in the study. Measurements were made with theOstell device and those with the implant stability quotient (ISQ) value below 40 were not included inthe study. Two types of cylindrical titanium implants are used. Each implant type was analyzedseparately using nonparametric methods. Differences between gender, jaw where implants wereplaced, and implant types were evaluated using the Mann-Whitney U statistical test. Results: Although neck resorption was higher in type 1 implant, no statistically significantdifference was found (P=0.357, P=0.064). Distal losses were higher in the maxilla, while mesiallosses were higher in the mandible. Conclusions: We think that many factors cause implant neck resorption. These factors include theregion where the dental implant is applied, the type of implant, and gender. However, many factorssuch as oral hygiene, systemic diseases, forces applied to the implant cause implant neckresorption.
Her implant tipi parametrik olmayan yöntemler kullanılarak ayrı ayrı analizedilmiştir.
