Abstract
This study was carried out to determine egg weight, shape index, hatching weight, and relationships among these traits in japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) with different colored plumages. In this study, 421 eggs and 332 chicks which hatched these eggs were used.Average egg weights were similar in sprinkled with gray and brown plumage color group while the lightest egg weights were obtained from white plumage color (P0.05).The lowest average chick weight was determined in the white group. Bu çalışma, farklı tüy rengine sahip Japon bıldırcınlarında (Coturnix coturnix japonica) yumurta ağırlığı, şekil indeksi ve çıkım ağırlığı ile bu özellikler arası ilişkileri ortaya koymak amacıyla yapılmıştır.Araştırmanın materyalini farklı tüy rengindeki Japon bıldırcınlarından 10-12 haftalık yaşta elde edilen 421 adet yumurta ve bunlardan çıkan 332 adet civciv oluşturmuştur. Farklı tüy rengine sahip bıldırcınların yumurta ağırlık ortalamaları kırçıl ve kahverengi gruplarda benzer iken en hafif yumurtalar beyaz gruptan elde edilmiştir (P0.05). En düşük civciv ağırlık ortalamaları beyaz gruptan en yüksek civciv ağırlık ortalamaları ise kahverengi gruptan elde edilmiştir (P
