Abstract

In this study, the effect of aggregate type used in the bitumen hot mix to the physical properties of pavement was investigated. For the experiments four different aggregate group which take from limestone and basalt, from Hanpınar and Karayazı regions of Elazığ were used. The Marshall stability and indirect tension tests were applied to the Marshall samples. The samples were prepared according to the Type II gradation limits of General Directorate of Highways Technical Specification. The effect of the aggregate type to the optimum bitumen ratio and the physical properties of the pavement was investigated. It was observed that the most economical mixture was obtained from limestone and the mixture with the highest strength was obtained from basalt.

Özet

Bu çalışmada, bitümlü sıcak karışımlarda kullanılan agrega cinsinin kaplamanın fiziksel özelliklerine etkisi araştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla Elazığ ili Hanpınar ve Karayazı yöresinden temin edilen kalker (K), bazalt (B), incesi kalker-irisi bazalt (KB) ve incesi bazalt-irisi kalker (BK) karışımlarından meydana gelen dört farklı agrega grubu kullanılmıştır. Karayolları Genel Müdürlüğü Fenni Şartnamesi tarafından aşınma tabakası için verilen Tip II gradasyonu ortalama değerlerine göre hazırlanmış Marshall briketleri üzerinde, Marshall stabilite ve indirekt çekme deneyleri yapılmış, agrega cinsinin kaplamanın optimum bitüm oranına ve diğer fiziksel özelliklerine etkisi incelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, en ekonomik karışımın K, dayanımı en yüksek olan karışımın ise B karışımı olduğu görülmüştür.
