The Middle Termin in the Syllogism

Abstract

This study aims to examine importance and value of the middle term in the syllogism. The syllogism has three propositions: these are big, minor and conclusion. Also it contains three terms: these are big, middle and minor. The syllogism is essentially a process of comparison. Each of the terms in the conclusion is compared with the same middle term. We attain the conclusion indirectly by means of the middle term. Thus the middle term services to be carried out the principles of the syllogism.However the middle term have a important role in forming of rules and figures of the syllogism
