Abstract

In this study, the synthesis of some new 2-thioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidines and their condensed derivatives thiazolo-[3,2-a]pyrimidines has been reported. The structures of the compounds were characterized by spectroscopic methods. The racemic compounds were resolved into their enantiomers analytically by HPLC on cellulose tris-(3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamate (OD) chiral stationary phase. Antimicrobial activities of the compounds against some bacteria and yeast-like fungi were investigated using the microdilution method. The antibacterial activity of the compounds was better than their antifungal activity. Compound 10b was found to be more effective against E.coli compared with the other derivatives (MIC: 31.25 $mu$g/ml).

Özet

Bu çalışmada, bazı yeni 2-tiyokso-1,2,3,4-tetrahidropirimidinler ile bunların kondanse türevleri olan tiyazolo[3,2-a]pirimidinlerin sentezi yapılarak, spektroskopik yöntemlerle yapıları aydınlatılmıştır. Rasemat halindeki bileşikler selüloz tris(3,5-dimetilfenilkarbaınat) (OD) kiral stasyoner faz kullanılarak HPLC ile analitik olarak enansiyomerlerine ayrılmıştır. Bileşiklerin bazı bakteri ve maya benzeri funguslara karşı antimikrobiyal aktiviteleri mikrodilüsyon yöntemi kullanılarak incelenmiş ve bazı bileşiklerin antibakteriyel aktivitelerinin antifungal aktivitelerine göre daha iyi olduğu görülmüştür. Bileşik 10b E. coli'ye karşı diğer bileşiklerden daha etkili bulunmuştur (MİK:31.25/$mu$g/ml).
