Özet
Intertextuality, a literary method often preferred by authors in postmodern literature, is alsoseen in the Nedim Gürsel's novels. His novel Allah'ın Kızları is largely developed on the basisof intertextuality that is used in the postmodernist novel. In this study, Allah'ın Kızları willbe examined in the context of intertextual relations and the focus will be on the causes and consequences of this situation. The criteria of intertextuality, a sub-theory in narratology, will beused in this study on the purpose of revealing the author's style on the conversion of hypotext andreasons for using these texts. The hypotexts of the novel Allah'ın Kızları are important evidenceswhich reveal that not only the literary sources but also products of oral tradition which can createsources for intertextuality. Important events in Islamic history, the Prophet Muhammad's life andstories of prophets are subjected to a re-writing process in the novel and transformed into a modernnarrative. The Quran is the most important hypotext on which the conversion is based. But it wasdetermined that the novel is also based on Taberi's Tarih-i Taberi (The History of Tabari) and İbn-iHişam's Es-Siret'ün-Nebeviyye (Prophet Muhammad's Life) which are considered as the mostancient sources of Islamic History.
