Abstract
Intertextuality or what is called intermusicality is one of the aesthetic characteristics of musical works known as traditional, modern or postmodern; this intermusical aspect is also noted in various practices of popular music. Indeed, music has a strong possibility of transformation; in the lyrics of songs we often distinguish presence of references to various disciplines, particularly literature and cinema, therefore musical works have a deep reflexive and dynamic dimensions. It is possible to perceive traces of intermusical practices and their functions and functioning only when we establish a theoretical infrastructure about intermusical practices. In the first, primarily theoretical part of this work, we develop Genette's intermusical approach referred to as "transesthetic practices" and S. Lacasse's approach, introducing the term "transphonography"- term which takes as a starting point Genette's concept of "transtextuality", to study various intermusical practices used in the popular music. D. Bowie's lyrics and type of music (especially rap) will be given as examples. We also analyse the list of examples offered in the collective work prepared and conducted by Jean-Philippe Ury-Petesch in his Lyrical intertextuality. This list will allow us to see how several songs have a referential capacity
