Computer-Assisted Instruction In Pre-School Education

Abstract

During the last 20 years, there has been a wide debate about how computers affect children’s development and learning. The purpose of this study is to discuss how computers should be used as an educational tool as well as the effects of computers on children’s development. For this porpuse, basic skills that the computers will develop in children were explained and the solutions to the questions and problems were presented in order to use early childhood education programs effectively. In order for childen to benefit from the computers effectively, the means of computer use were explained. Finally, the criteria for developmentally appropriate computer programs were discussed.

Çocukların öğrenme ve gelişimini bilgisayarların nasıl etkilediği ile ilgili tartışmalar son 20 yıldır devam etmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı bilgisayarın bir eğitim aracı olarak nasıl kullanılması gerektiğini ve çocukların gelişimi üzerindeki etkilerini tartışmaktır. Bu amaçla bilgisayarın çocuklara kazandıracağı temel beceriler açıklamış ve bilgisayar destekli okul öncesi eğitim programlarını etkili kullanmak için var olan soru ve sorunlara çözümler sunulmuştur. Çocukların gelişimlerine zarar vermeden bilgi-sayardan en etkili bir şekilde yararlanmaları için izlenmesi gereken yollar anlatılmış ve gelişime uygun programın içermesi gereken ölçütler tartışılmıştır.
