Pre-service Preschool Teachers Humor Style According to Statistical Classification of Region Units of Turkey

Abstract
This study was carried out to investigate pre-service preschool teachershumor styles according to some variables based on the information provided by Sta- tistical Classification of Region Units of Turkey (SCRU). 1144 pre-service pre- school teachers in either their first year or fourth year at university were selected through stratified sampling and included in the study group. The study followed the principles of general scanning model and the universities were selected according to SCRU. Humor Styles Questionnaire which was adapted by Yerlikaya (2003) was used as a data gathering tool and during the analysis of the data Kruskall-Wallis H test and Mann-Whitney U test with Bonferroni correction were used. According to the results, significant difference was observed among pre-service preschool teach- ers humor styles according to the region where their university was located, their gender and their hometown.
Özet
Araştırma, Türkiye İstatistikî Bölge Birimleri Sınıflandırmasına (İBBS) göre okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının mizah tarzlarının bazı değişkenlere göre incelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Genel tarama modelindeki araştırmanın örneklemine İBBSye göre on iki bölgede bulunan üniversitelerin Okul Öncesi Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı birinci ve dördüncü sınıflarında öğrenim gören öğretmen adaylarından tabakalı örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen toplam 1114 okul öncesi öğretmen adayı alınmıştır. Yerlikaya (2003) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlaması yapılanMizah Tarzları Ölçeği (Humor Styles Questionnaire) kullanılarak elde edilen ver- iler non-parametrik ölçümlerden Bonferroni düzeltmeli Kruskall-Wallis H testi ve Mann-Whitney U testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Buna göre, okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının öğrenim gördükleri üniversitelerin bulunduğu bölgelere, cinsiyete ve üniversiteye başlamadan önce yaşadıkları yere göre mizah tarzları arasında anlamlı bir farkın olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
