The Examination of the Altruism Level of Undergraduate Students in Two Different Health Professions

Abstract

Purpose: The study was done to compare the altruism level of physiotherapy and rehabilitation and health management’ undergraduates students and to investigate the effects of undergraduate education on the altruism level of students. Material and Methods: Three hundred twenty-three first, second, third or fourth year students at Trakya University Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (PT) and Health Management (HM) Departments participated in the study. Socio-demographic characteristics were recorded. Altruism level of the individuals were evaluated with “Altruism Scale”. Amaç: Bu çalışma, fizyoterapi ve rehabilitasyon ile sağlık yönetimi alanlarında öğrenim görmekte olanöğrencilerin özgecilik düzeylerini karşılaştırmak ve lisans eğitiminin özgecilik düzeyine etkileriniincelenmek amacıyla gerçekleştirildi. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmaya, Trakya Üniversitesi Fizyoterapi veRehabilitasyon (FTR) ve Sağlık Yönetimi (SY) Bölümlerinin tüm sınıflarında öğrenim gören 323 öğrencikatıldı. Öğrencilerin sosyo-demografik bilgileri kaydedildi. Bireylerin özgecilik düzeyleri “Özgecilik Ölçeği”kullanılarak değerlendirildi.
