Abstract
In this study , we aimed at demonstrating the variation of the median nerve found in a 50 year old male cadaver. The median nerve was formed by the fusion of three branches. Normally, the median nerve is established by two branches coming from the medial root of the median nerve from the medial cord and the lateral root of the median nerve from the lateral cord of the brachial plexus. It was found that a third branch, from the musculocutaneous nerve joined with the median nerve at 7,5 cm distally from the beginning of the median nerve. The coracobrachialis muscle was between the lateral root of the median nerve and the third branch. It could be helpful to bear in mind the variation of the brachial plexus and its terminal branches during surgical procedures in this area.
