Intraarticular neostigmine for postoperative analgesia

Abstract

Purpose: In this study, we aimed to compare the analgesic effects of intraarticular bupivacaine, bupivacaine + neostigmine mixture or neostigmine alone for postartroscopic analgesia. Patients and Methods: ASA I-II, 60 patients, scheduled for arthroscopic surgery, were randomly divided into three groups. General anaesthesia was induced with iv 5 mg/kg thiopentone and 0.1 mg/kg pancuronium and maintained by 1-1.5% isofluorane within 50% N2O+O2 mixture in all groups. Postoperatively, intraarticular 75 mg 0.25% bupivacaine was administered to Group I (n=20), 75 mg 0.25% bupivacaine and 500 mg neostigmine mixture to Group II (n=20), and 500 mg neostigmine to Group III (n=20). Amaç: Çalismamizda, intraartiküler bupivakain, bupivakain + neostigmin karışımı ya da tek başina neostigminin, postartroskopik analjezi sağlamada etkinliğini değerlendirmeyi amaçladık. Hastalar ve Yöntem: Tek taraflı artroskopik diz cerrahisi planlanan ASA I-II grubu, 60 olgu rastgele çalismaya alındı. Her üç grupta da olgulara iv 5 mg/kg tiopenton, 0.1mg/kg panküronyum ile anestezi indüksiyonunu takiben %50 N2O+O2 karışımı içinde %1-1.5 izofluran ile genel anestezi uygulandı. Cerrahi işlem tamamlandıktan sonra Grup I'de (n=20) i.a bupivakain %0.25, 75 mg, Grup II'de (n=20) bupivakain %0.25, 75 mg ve 500 mg neostigmin, Grup III'de (n=20) 500 mg neostigmin intraartiküler uygulandı.
