Abstract

A twenty-one–day-old-male infant presented with right ear malformation, jaundice and umbilical hernia. The patient was investigated for congenital hypothyroidism because of prolongation of jaundice and endocrinologic tests confirmed the diagnosis. It was emphasized that extra thyroidal malformations were seen more frequently in cases with congenital hypothyroidism.

Özet

Yirmi bir günlük erkek bebekte sağ dış kulak yolu yokluğu, sağ kulak kepçesinde deformite şeklinde kulak malformasyonu, ciltte ve skleralarda sarılık ve göbek fıtığı saptandı. Uzayan sarılık nedeniyle konjenital hipotiroidi düşünülen bebekte endokrin testler tanıyı destekledi. Konjenital hipotiroidi olgularında ekstratiroidal malformasyonların daha sık görülebileceği vurgulandı.
