İzole TSH eksikliği

Abstract

Generally, pituitary hormone deficiencies includes more than one trophic hormone. However, isolated deficiencies have been reported. In this paper, we describe a women who was admitted to the hospital because of climacteric symptoms. Besides the climacteric symptoms, her medical history showed the symptoms of hypothyroidism such as fatigue, alopecia, cold intolerance and thyroid hormone levels indicated secondary hypothyroidism. The dynamic test of the pituitary gland showed isolated TSH deficiency. Isolated TSH deficiency is a rare condition and as in this case patients may admit to the hospital by completely different reasons.

Özet

Hipofiz hormon eksiklikleri genellikle birden fazla hormonun eksikliği şeklindedir. Ancak izole hormon eksiklikleri de bildirilmiştir. Bu makalede, klimakterik semptomlarla hastaneye başvuran bir hastayı sunduk. Hastanın hikayesinde yorgunluk, saç dökülmesi, soğuğa tahammülsüzlük gibi hipotiroidizme işaret eden semptomlar mevcuttu ve tiroid hormon düzeyleri sekonder hipotiroidizmi gösteriyordu. Hipofizin dinamik testlerinde izole TSH eksikliği tespit edildi, izole TSH eksikliği nadir bir durum olup bu vakada olduğu gibi tamamen farklı sebeplerle hastaneye başvurulabilirler.
