Abstract
Kallmann's syndrome is characterized by hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, anosmia, and a failure to progress in secondary sexual characteristics. It is a very rare disorder and may develop as a congenital or sporadic disease. The responsible gene has been shown to be located in short arm of X chromosome. Both presence of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, anosmia, and a failure to progress in secondary sexual characteristics and also detection of aplasia of olfactory gyrus or olfactory bulbus/tractus are essential for the diagnosis. We here report a patient admitted with a failure to progress in secondary sexual characteristics and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. He initially did not complain a failure of smelling, but a thorough history revealed an anosmia. Current medical literature has been also reviewed.
