Abstract
This article explores the justice system of ottoman state by introducing an unknown hand written copy of Tazkira of Latifi, which provides details about the poet Nihani’s life. The article also examines the role of otoman judges (kadis) in implementing justice as reported in the Tazkira. The study provides a first hand account of the functioning of the Ottoman justice system.

Bu makalede Osmanlı devletinde adalet sistemi, adaletin uygulanmasında kâdının rolü araştırılmaktadır. Latifi Tezkiresi’nin bilinmeyen bir el yazma nüshası tanıtılmakta, tezkirede adı geçen şair Nihânî’nin kâdılara, dolayısıyla adaletin işleyişine eleştirileri birinci kaynaktan aktarılmaktadır.
