Effect of research and development to the effectiveness of small and medium sized enterprises and a case study

Abstract

SME s generally don t care much about R&D. R&D for a company is about gathering new know-how,innovating, introduction to the outer world and to be competitive. Grandenterprises take R&D seriously andgenerally allocate an important resource (financial budget). However, SME s don t pay much interest in R&D. Itis fact that todays competitive environment forces enterprises to continuously innovate and create new ideas,thoughts and methods. As a result of this effective production is tied to innovation. In this research we evaluateresults of a survey applied to 55 SME s in Gaziantep and share the results.

Özet

KOBilerde AR-GE faaliyetlerine pek önem vermezler. AR-GE faaliyeti bir işletme için yeni bilgiler oluşturma,yenilik yapma, dış dünyayla tanışma ve rekabet edebilir duruma gelmesini sağlamaktır. Büyük işletmelerde AR-GE faaliyetlerine önem verirler ve önemli bir kaynak (mali bütçe) ayırırlar. Ancak KOBilerde pekönemsenmez. Hâlbuki günümüz rekabet ortamı, işletmelerin ayakta kalabilmeleri için sürekli yeni fikirler,düşünceler, metotlar ortaya koyarak inovasyon yapmalarıdır. Bunun sonucu verimli bir üretim yapmaları,yaptıkları yeniliğe bağlıdır. Bu çalışmamızla Gaziantep İlinde 55 tane KOBİye uygulanan anketin sonuçlarınıdeğerlendirip toplumla paylaşmaktır.
