Studying skills effects on second level primary school students academic success

Abstract
The main purpose of this research is to determine the effects of studying skills o on academic successof the students and retention of the knowledge. This research was designed in true experimentalmodel. The data which was used in this research was collected by the multiple choice test which wasdevelopped by the researchers. The treatment and control group of this research consisted of fortystudents who were eight grades between the ages 13-15, in the school year 2009-2010 in the StatePrimary School in Arnavutköy - İstanbul. According to the result of the pre-tests and post-tests,between the treatment and control groups, there were not significant differences. Whereas the resultsof the retention test showed significant differences.
Özet
Bu araştırmanın temel amacı ders çalışma becerileri eğitiminin öğrencilerin akademik başarısına veöğrenilen bilgilerin kalıcılığına etkisini belirlemektir. Araştırma gerçek deneme modelinde birçalışmadır. Araştırmada kullanılan veriler araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen çoktan seçmeli birtestin uygulanması sonucu elde edilmiştir Araştırmanın deney ve kontrol grubunu, İstanbul iliArnavutköy ilçesinde bulunan bir Devlet İlköğretim Okulunun, 2009-2010 eğitim öğretim yılındakiiki şubesinden seçilen 8.sınıf 13-15 yaş arası 40 öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmadan elde edilenveriler incelendiğinde ön test'e ve son teste ait olan t-testi sonuçlarına göre deney ve kontrol gruplarıarasında anlamlı fark olmadığı ancak kalıcılık testi sonuçlarına göre elde edilen t-testi sonuçlarınagöre deney ve kontrol grupları arasında anlamlı fark olduğu görülmüştür .
