The fragmentation patterns of wage labourers in Turkey

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to analyze the fragmentation patterns of wage-laborers in Turkey. The basicdeterminants of being a member of wage-laborers or working-class is the detachment from the means ofproduction. However this definition is not implying that the working-class is a homogenous social class. Theclass structures of all social formations cause the fragmentation of wage-laborers in different degrees and forms.This situation mostly obstructs the united struggle of wage-laborers against the dominant classes. In this study,the fragmentation patterns of wage-laborers in Turkey analyses through; the sectorial distribution of labor force,employment data, registration to a social security establishment, unemployment, size of the enterprises,privatization and the informal sector. The neo-liberal policies since 1980 s in all over the world extend theinsecurity throughout all laboring classes.

Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiyede ücretli emekçilerin parçalanma örüntülerini analiz etmektir. Ücretli emekçi yada işçi sınıfı üyesi olmanın en temel belirleyicisi üretim araçlarından koparılmış olmaktır. Fakat bu tanımişçilerin homojen bir toplumsal sınıf oldukları anlamına gelmemektedir. Her toplumsal formasyonun sınıfsalyapısı, ücretli emekçilerin farkı derecelerde, farklı biçimlerde parçalanmasına sebep olmaktadır. Bu durum çoğuzaman ücretli emekçilerin, egemen toplumsal sınıflara karşı birleşik bir mücadele yürütmelerini dezorlaştırmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Türkiyede ücretli emekçilerin farklılaşma örüntüleri işgücünün sektöreldağılımı, işteki durumu göre istihdam verileri, sosyal güvenlik kurumlarına kayıtlılık, işsizlik, işletmebüyüklükleri, özelleştirme ve enformel sektörün varlığı etrafında analiz edilmeye çalışılacaktır. Dünya genelinde1980li yıllar ile birlikte uygulanan neo-liberal politikalar, güvencesizliği tüm emekçi sınıflara doğrugenişletmiştir.
