REVERSE BRAINSTORMING ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND IT’S EFFECTS ON TEACHERS’ AWARENESS OF CREATIVE THINKING

SOSYAL MEDYADA TERS BEYİN FIRTINASI: ÖĞRETMENLERİN YARATICI DÜŞÜNMEYE YÖNELİK FARKINDALIKLARINA ETKİSİ

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of creative thinking education on the awareness of teachers about creative thinking by using reverse brainstorming technique on a social media platform. In accordance with this purpose, 30 teachers from 7 regions of the country, and 13 different branches were included in a Facebook group created by the researchers. These teachers participated in activities prepared based on reverse brainstorming technique for four weeks. Data were collected using a semi-structured interview form before and after the application. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained from 11 teachers, it was determined that the application made positive contributions to the awareness of the teachers. Teachers were generally pleased with the education on the social media platform. One of the important results of this study was that teachers are focused on the obstacles to encourage students to creative thinking. Teachers need to be supported so that the 21st-century community can grow creative thinking individuals.

Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, sosyal medya aracılığıyla ters beyin fırtınası tekniği kullanılarak verilen yaratıcı düşünme eğitiminin öğretmenlerin yaratıcı düşünmeye yönelik farkındalıklarına etkisini belirlemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 7 farklı bölgeden ve 13 branştan 30 gönüllü öğretmen Facebook’ta oluşturulan bir gruba dahil edilmiştir. Bu öğretmenler dört hafta boyunca ters beyin fırtınası tekniği esas alınarak yapılan etkinliklere katılım sağlamıştır. Uygulama öncesi ve sonrası öğretmenlerden görüşme formu yardımıyla veriler toplanmış, 11 öğretmenden elde edilen verilerin analizi sonucunda yapılan uygulamanın öğretmenlerin farkındalıklarını arttırdığı tespit edilmiştir. Öğretmenler genel olarak sosyal medya platformunda eğitim almaktan memnun kalmıştır. Araştırmanın önemli bulgularından birisi de öğretmenlerin yaratıcı eğitim vermenin önündeki engellere takılı kalmış olmasıdır. 21.YY toplumunun beklediği yaratıcı bireyleri yetiştirebilmeleri için öğretmenlerin desteklenmeye ihtiyacı vardır.
