An overview to transformation of Turkish social movements

Abstract

The aim of this article is to make a framework of Turkish social movements experiments through social movements theory. In order to ensure this aim, the transformation of the Turkish movements, especially after 1980, will be analysed over two main criterions, which are the overstrain capacity of institutional borders and to create new political debates. The article depends on the thesis that social movements have the power to constitute a new political and in this context the influences of Turkish social movements over political are obviously limited. When discussing social movements in Turkey, it is:possibie to say that movements are bounded by institutional aspects however could not determine to them. The movements that mentioned in the article, are not taken as a case-study, but discussed on whether to create their own spaces and to build up public debates in Turkey. It is emphasized that the emerging movements at Turkey could not go beyond to be supporters of organized struggle of political parties and unions. Stili, with 2000s it can be argued that some experiments emerged can be the case of new social movements approach.

Özet

Bu yazının amacı, toplumsal hareketler teorisi içerisinden Türkiye'deki toplumsal hareket deneyimlerine dair genel bir çerçeve çizmektir. Bu doğrultuda Türkiyeli toplumsal hare ketlerin" kurumsal sınırları zorlama kapasitesi" ve "yeni siyasal tartışma noktalan yaratmak" noktalan üzerinden özellikle Î980 sonrası dönüşümü incelenecektir. Çalışma, toplumsal hareketlerin siyasal anlamda kurucu birer güç olduğu tezine dayanmaktadır ve bu açıdan Türkiyeli hareketlerin siyasal olan üzerindeki etkileri sınırlı olmuştur. Türkiye'de toplumsal hareketlerden bahsederken, hareketlerin kurumsal boyutu aşan bir çerçevede gelişmediğini ve onlara bağlı kaldığını söylemek mümkündür. İncelenen hareketler, birer örnek olay olarak değil, kendi alanlarım yaratıp kamusal tartışmaları belirlemeleri üzerinden ele alınmıştır. Çalışmada, Türlciye'de gelişen hareketlerin, parti ve sendikaların yürüttüğü örgütlü mücadelenin destekçisi olmaktan öteye geçemediği vurgulanmıştır. Ancak 2000'li yıllarla birlikte yeni toplumsal hareketler yaklaşımına örnek olabilecek deneyimlerin onaya çıktığı savunulmuştur.
