Sociological evaluation: The issue of gender ıdentity from the perspective of lgbt people

Sosyolojik değerlendirme: Lgbt bireyler açısından cinsiyet kimlikleri meselesi

Abstract

In this article; the issue of gender identity is discussed in terms of defnitions, concepts, problemareas, approaches in different countries in order to treat it in sociological contexts and to evaluatedemands and struggles of LGBT people against social, political and economical pressuresfrom a new perspective. The social processes reproduced by patriarchal and capitalist system;the social discriminatory perspectives, the severe forms of violence, human rights violationsincluding hatred, alienation and othering practices, diffculties of survival experienced byLGBT people are evaluated with examples from different countries and Turkey. The needfor the change in mentality that will create the basis for democratic and emancipatory socialtransformation, scientifc perspective and respect for human rights is mentioned.

Bu makale, cinsiyet kimlikleri meselesini; tanımlar, kavramlar, sorun alanları ve farklı ülkelerdekiyaklaşımlar açısından sosyolojik bağlamda ele almak, toplumsal, siyasal ve ekonomik baskılarakarşı talepler ve mücadeleler açısından değerlendirmek amacını taşımaktadır. Patriyarkal vekapitalist sistemin yeniden ürettiği toplumsal süreçlerle LGBT bireylerin cinsiyet kimliklerineyönelik toplumsal ayrımcı bakış açıları, ağır şiddete uğrama biçimleri, nefret, ötekileştirme veinsan hakları ihlalleri, hukuk dışı uygulamalar ortaya konmaya çalışılmaktadır. LGBT bireylerinyaşadıkları var olma sorunları, mücadele ve talepleri farklı ülkeler ve Türkiye açısındandeğerlendirilmektedir. Yeni bir toplumsal dönüşümün temelini de oluşturacak nitelikte zihniyetdeğişimlerine, bilimsel bakışa ve insan haklarına saygıya olan gereksinim dile getirilmektedir.
