Abstract
The Sakha Turks, who acquired the Siberian lands as their homeland, lived an isolated life for long time from all other communities. This isolated life helped to protect their traditions unchanged. Despite the long—term preservation of believe structure and tradition cultuRe, different cultural traditions began to enter the lands of the Sakha Turks in the 16005, especially the Russians. This situation of course has affected the society and caused some changes in traditional behavior and understanding structures. In spite ofall these, Saha Turks are one of the Turkish communities that best protect traditional culture in general. In this traditional structure, there is also dance called "osuokhaj". This dance, which researchers generally describe as 'circle dance', is now part of general public celebrations as it was performed on summer festivals in the past. The dance has direct connection with the beliefs of Sakha Turks. Researchers claim that the greeting, the entrance figure of the consultant, is the salutation of the sun. Moreover, it is likened to the sun being performed as dance circle. The presence of osuohay dance-like dances in Sakha Turks in other communities is considered as sign that this dance has many ancient roots.
