Abstract
This study was performed with 89 Type 1 Diabetic patients and 50 healthy children as the control group who were similar with age, sex, weight, height and pubertal status. We examined the changes in the lipid profile (Total cholesterol, HDL-C, LDL-C, VLDL, triglyceride, apo-A1, apo-B, lipoprotein electrophoresis) in children with Type 1 DM and differences from control group and also the correlations between (these lipids) and age, sex, puberty, duration of illness, HbA1c level. 45% (40 patients) of the patients were female and 55% (49 patients) were male in the diabetic group. The mean age of the diabetic group was 11.20 + 3.56 (3-17 years). Total cholesterol, LDL-C apo-B levels were higher in the diabetic patients, which was statistically significant (p
