Abstract

Shunt nephritis is known as glomerulonephritis developing as a result of the infection of the shunts placed for hydrocephalus. Glomerular disease associated with myelofibrosis is rarely described, and immune complexes are thought to be responsible in the pathogenesis of both disorders. In this article, a case with coexistent infective endocarditis, glomerulonephritis and myelofibrosis developing as a complication of an infected ventriculoatrial shunt presented and the pathogenesis of this association is discussed.
