Abstract

Haydar Ergülen who started to publish his first poems in 1979, is evaluated as one of the most common names of imagist poetry among 1980 generations. Being associated with imagist poetry is so meaningful when we consider both his attitudes and declarations in poetic arguments and contents of his works. Ergülen has followed an important processes of Turkish poetry from traditional to modern, and generally he has pursued a unique poetry perspective that designs an individual and secret image world within the frame of his susceptibilities. It is mentioned about prominent themes in Ergülen’s image world. Also, setting image takes part in these themes such as childhood and memory of which usually repeat. Ergülen creates an atmosphere in his poems with the help of setting, he establishes the composition of text, he concretes the narratory emotion, he contacts with the other images and so he expends the association space of poem. In Ergülen’s works, setting takes on a task that transfers/forms emotion, imagination and memory beyond being a place of action and circumstance. One o the most important examples that ancestor to profit by setting image in Ergülen’s poetic expression, can be considered as the poet’s city image in his works. In almost all of his books, Ergülen’s connection with cities is attracted the attention more specifically. The city image in Ergülen’s works is one of the main discourses that comprise of with a poetic approach, thematic concern and sense of load in poems. In our work, as in the paradigm of the poem Kuzguncuk Hotel, the place of city and setting image in Ergülen’s Aristotelian criticism will be examined. Also our sense, it will be attracted attention to concretisation of relation between poem and sense-reality-function-expression in the poet’s poem perspective, and the role of city/setting image in his reflection. Also, by analyzing content, the expression and association opportunities in poems will be tried to be interpreted. In this surveying, e interaction with Aristotelian criticism-setting-image in Ergülen’s literary aspect will be argued, and with the help of this interaction, the poet’s poems will be discussed by critical reading mostly and scrutinized.

İlk şiirlerini 1979 yılında yayımlamaya başlayan Haydar Ergülen, 1980 kuşağı içerisinde imge şiirinin önde gelen isimlerinden biri olarak değerlendirilir. Şairin imgeci bir şiir anlayışı ile ilişkilendirilmesi, gerek Ergülen’in poetik tartışmalar içindeki tutum ve beyanları gerekse eserlerinin içeriği dikkate alındığında son derece anlamlıdır. Ergülen, gelenekten moderne Türk şiirinin önemli aşamalarını dikkatle takip etmiş ve daha çok duyarlılıkları çerçevesinde kapalı ve bireysel bir imge dünyası tasarlayan özgün bir şiir arayışı peşinde olmuştur. Ergülen’in imge dünyasında öne çıkan bazı temalardan söz edilebilir. Çocukluk, bellek gibi sıklıkla tekrar eden bu temalar arasında mekân imgesi de yer alır. Ergülen, mekân vasıtasıyla şiirlerinde bir atmosfer oluşturur, metnin kompozisyonunu kurar, anlatılan duyguyu somutlaştırır, diğer imgelerle bağlantı kurar ve böylece şiirinin çağrışım alanını daha da genişletir. Ergülen’de mekân, eylem ve halin yeri olmanın ötesinde duygu, hayal/muhayyile ve belleği aktaran, biçimlendiren bir görev üstlenir. Ergülen’in şiirsel ifadede mekân imgesinden faydalanmasına kaynaklık eden en belirgin örneklerden birisi de şairin eserlerindeki şehir imgesi olarak düşünülebilir. Ergülen’in hemen hemen bütün kitaplarında şehirlerle olan bağı daha belirgin bir şekilde göze çarpmaktadır. Ergülen’de şehir/mekân, şiirlerdeki anlam yükü, tematik endişe ve poetik bir yaklaşımla biçimlenen temel söylem alanlarındandır. İşte bu çalışmamızda daha çok Kuzguncuk Oteli şiiri örnekleminde Haydar Ergülen’in poetikasında şehir/mekân imgesinin yeri sorgulanacaktır. Bu anlamda şairin şiir anlayışında şiir ve anlam/gerçeklik/işlev/ifade ilişkilerinin somutlaştırılması ve yansımasında şehir/mekân imgesinin rolüne dikkat çekilecek, içerik incelemesi yöntemiyle de şiirlerdeki çağrışım ve ifade imkânları anlamlandırılmaya çalışılacaktır. Yine incelememizde Ergülen’in edebî anlayışında poetika/mekân/imge etkileşimi tartışılacak ve bu etkileşimden hareketle şairin şiirleri daha çok eleştirel bir okumayla ele alınıp irdelenecektir.
