Investigation of Quality Characteristics of the Elastane Core Cotton Yarns

Abstract

In this study, it is aimed to evaluate elastane core cotton yarn samples, which are produced considering the usage conditions in yarn production industry, by objective methods and it is also aimed to reveal performance of these yarns by examining the quality properties. Totally eight elastane core cotton yarns, which had four different yarn counts and two different twist coefficients, were systematically produced by modifying the compact spinning machine within the scope of the study. The quality properties of the elastane core cotton yarns are determined by measuring breaking strength, elongation, unevenness and hairiness of the yarns produced, and the results are evaluated according to changing of linear density and twist level of the yarns.

Özet

Bu çalışmada, iplik üretim endüstrisinde kullanım şartlarını dikkate alarak üretilen elastan özlü pamuk ipliği örneklerinin objektif yöntemlerle değerlendirilmesi ve kalite özelliklerinin incelenerek bu ipliklerinin performanslarının ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında kontrollü üretim şartlarında kompakt eğirme makinasının modifiye edilmesiyle dört farklı iplik numarasında ve iki farklı büküm katsayısında toplam sekiz adet elastan özlü pamuk ipliği üretilmiştir. Üretilmiş olan ipliklerin kopma mukavemeti, kopma uzaması, düzgünsüzlük ve tüylülük özellikleri ölçülerek elastan özlü pamuk ipliklerine ait kalite değerleri belirlenmiş, sonuçlar ipliklerin lineer yoğunluğu ve büküm seviyesi değişimine göre değerlendirilmiştir.
