Abstract

The rigidity of nominal wages is one of the long argued subjects among the economistsboth classical and contemporary. The views on this subject can be grouped in two categories. WhileClassical and New-Classical economists accept the nominal wage flexibility, Keynesian economistsaccept them as downwardly rigid. Hypotheses and assumptions in Economics carry great importance inEconomics in order to establish a new theory. These hypothesis and assumptions have specialimportance for theories that reach a general equilibrium model. Therefore, these hypotheses of eachtheory are considered analyzable under the light of Friedman's methodology. The framework of thisstudy is the Post-Keynesian concept of "rigidity of nominal wages due to the wage contracts". First fourchapters are restricted to the general overview of the subject, and the subject has been evaluated withinthe assumption of nominal wage flexibility in fifth and last chapter.

Nominal ücretlerin aşağıya doğru katılığı hem Klasik hem de günümüz iktisatçıları arasında çokeskiden beri tartışılan bir konudur. Bu konudaki görüşler başlıca iki grupta toplanmaktadır. Klasik veYeni Klasik iktisatçılar nominal ücretleri esnek kabul ederken Keynesyen iktisatçılar bunları aşağıyadoğru katı kabul etme eğilimindedirler.İktisat biliminde kurulan teorilerde başlangıç hipotezleri veyavarsayımları büyük önem taşımaktadır. Teorilerin birçoğunun sonunda ulaşılan genel dengemodellerinde bu başlangıç varsayımları önemli bir rol taşımaktadırlar. Bu nedenle, her teorininvarsayımları, Friedmancı bir metodoloji ile, incelenmeye ve araştırılmaya değer bulunmaktadır. Buçalışmada konu sadece Post-Keynesyen iktisatçıların "ücret kontratları nedeni ile nominal ücretlerin katıolduğu" görüşü çerçevesinde incelenmiştir. İlk dört bölümde konu hakkında bilgi verilmiş beşinci veson bölüm ise konunun nominal ücretlerin esnek olduğu varsayımı ile değerlendirilmesine ayrılmıştır.
