Abstract
Heart are connected to folk medicine are important elements of Turkish culture. Disease prevention, and search effortsfor treatment methods are as old as the history of humanity. The reason for being of these hearth extending from Central Asia toAnatolia and the therapies are consequences of this effort. Besides hosting the traces of the old Turkish beliefs, hearth havereached to the present day by incorporating İslamic motifs. As in many parts of Anatolia, , hearth are widely available in andaround Kütahya. In the first part of this article we will inform you about Kütahya, the properties of ocak (, hearth), ocaklı(someone who belongs to a specific organization) and the methods of el verme (transfering knowledge to new generations). In thesecond part, we will cover the, hearths and the therapies that they applied.
Özet
Halk hekimliğ ine bağ lı olan sa ğ altma ocakları Türk kültürünün önemli unsurlarındandır. İnsanlık tarihi ne kadar eski isehastalıklardan korunma ve tedavi yöntemleri arama gayreti de aynı oranda eskidir. Orta Asyadan Anadoluya uzanan ocaklarınvarlık sebebi ve yaptıkları uygulamalar da bu gayretin neticesidir. Bir taraftan eski Türk inançlarının izlerini içerisinde barındıransağ altma ocakları diğ er taraftan da İslami motifleri bünyesine katarak günümüze kadar ulaş abilmiştir. Anadolunun pek çokyerinde oldu ğ u gibi Kütahya ve çevresinde de yaygın bir ş ekilde sağ altma ocakları mevcuttur.
