Abstract
Although breast and cervical cancer is a very serious health issue, when it's detected early the chances of surviving for the individual are greatly increased. However, when it's not detected early, the prognosis for the illness gets worse resulting in increased health care costs and possibly death. It is thought that health belief and health promotion models which include the factors that effect the implementation related to early detection will be of great benefit in improving the effectiveness of nursing practices. The objective of this review is to explain the effects of using Health Belief and Health Promotion Models in low-income women with regard to breast and cervical cancer early detection behaviour.
